Hazards, Damage & Healing

Navigating hazards, managing damage, and healing Units are critical aspects of gameplay that enable you to expand as far as possible and gain more Victory Points.

Hazard Cards

At the end of each turn, immediately following any resource production, the environment will play 1 Hazard Card to the board. You can see which hazard card it will be in advance in the bottom right of the UI.

These Hazard Cards vary in their effects and damage. Some will deal damage randomly to a single Unit on the board, and others will deal damage to everything.

Once a hazard's damage is inflicted for that turn, then a new turn starts.

Moving Hazards vs Global Hazards

Some hazard types, when played to the board, will spawn in a certain location and sweep through the board over the course of multiple turns. You can predict the direction the hazard will go based on the direction of the arrow. Examples of these hazards include dust storms and static storms.

Global Hazards, on the other hand, will strike everything on the board, or will randomly strike particular cards regardless of their location. Examples of these include mechanical failures and viruses.

Unit Health

When units encounter hazards, they may suffer damage based on the hazard's type and intensity. Damage reduces a unit's health points (HP). Units will get destroyed and removed from the board if their health reaches 0.

Healing Units

To counteract damage and sustain units throughout gameplay, various healing mechanisms are available. Healing cards or abilities can restore units' HP, mitigating the effects of damage incurred from hazards or enemy engagements.

Shielding Units from Hazards

Certain cards can deploy Shield Points (shown under the unit with a shield icon) which acts as bonus health points on the item. Use Shield Points to survive more extreme hazards.

Navigating hazards, managing damage, and employing healing strategies are integral to mastering our game's tactical challenges. Players must balance offensive maneuvers with defensive tactics, anticipating and responding to the dynamic threats posed by hazards while leveraging healing resources to sustain their units' resilience and strategic impact.
